Is allergic rhinitis ever the cause of other problems?

How is allergic rhinitis diagnosed?
Your allergist-immunologist may start by collecting a thorough medical history and looking for indicators in your daily routine that can assist pinpoint the source of your symptoms. You'll be questioned about your work and home situations, dietary habits, medical history in your family, the frequency and severity of your symptoms, and other details, such as whether you have pets. Then you may need to do certain tests. Skin testing, in which minute amounts of a suspected allergen are put into the skin, may be used by your allergist-immunologist. Skin testing is the simplest, most sensitive, and generally cheapest method of diagnosis. Another benefit is that the results are available right away.
